A guide for first-time visitors to Ayia Napa

Whether you're a visitor or a resident, there's plenty to see and do in Ayia Napa. With its many beaches and a bustling nightlife, you'll be hard pressed to find a dull moment in this Mediterranean resort town.

Makronissos Tombs

Located in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, the Makronissos Tombs are the remains of a Hellenistic and Roman period burial site. The necropolis contains 19 tombs, each carved in stone slabs.

The tombs are rectangular in shape and feature a simple chamber and a rectangular trench in the middle. The entrances are carved in the rock and each has a large plate that closes the chamber. There are also three benches at each side of the chamber.

Recent studies have indicated that the quarry operation has caused some damage to the tombs. A small ancient sanctuary has been found to the east of the burial grounds.

The excavations in the area were carried out between 1989 and 1990 and sponsored by the Ayia Napa Municipality. There have been few other traces of settlement in the area, but the necropolis testifies to the existence of an ancient settlement in the region.

The necropolis is believed to have been abandoned in the 7th century after the ravages of Arab raids. The tombs are considered to be part of the ancient Greek culture of Ayia Napa.

Sculpture Park

Sculpture Park in Ayia Napa is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Ayia Napa. The park is located in the eastern part of the island and is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The park contains several beautiful sculptures. The works of art in the Sculpture Park depict themes influenced by Greek Mythology and Cypriot philosophy. The park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The park is free to enter. The Sculpture Park in Ayia Napapa features works of art by forty sculptors from all over the world. There are more sculptures being added to the park each year. Sculptures are based on Greek mythology and are carved in a landscaped park with sea views.

The first Sculpture Symposium was held in April 2014. The event brought together 14 sculptors from Greece and Cyprus. They were given free accommodation for three weeks. The materials for their works were provided by the Municipality of Ayia Napa.

Ayia Napa - excursions and day trips

Whether you're a first-time visitor to Ayia Napa, or a return visitor to the island, you'll be able to find an excursion or day trip that suits your style. Ayia Napa has a lot to offer, from its many beaches to its thriving nightlife. During the day, you'll be able to explore the city's quaint streets while checking out the museums, shopping centers, and restaurants. By night, the city's bars, clubs, and other venues will be abuzz with live music, dancing, and drinking.

The best way to experience the town is to take a guided tour of the area. The guided tour will show you the major sights, including the Venetian-era monastery, the Ghost Town, Othello Castle, and more. During the tour, you'll also visit a local beach. For a more unique experience, you can opt to dive in the nearby sea caves.

Visiting the Museum of Underwater Sculpture is an activity that should be on your list of things to do. This family-run business has over 93 organic sculptures created from fish and other local materials. It's a truly unique snorkeling experience in Cyprus, and you'll even have the chance to swim in its waters.

Similarly, the Ayia Napa Water Park is Europe's largest waterpark, with lots of fun things to do. There are Doric columns, an ancient Greek theme, and a number of other attractions to keep you occupied. There are also quieter places to escape the crowds.

Ayia Napa also has Europe's largest waterpark, which is home to the Phaethon's Flume. There are plenty of other rides to choose from, including the Apollos Plunge, the Chariot Chase, and the Drop to Atlantis. It's not difficult to see why this is one of the most popular waterparks in the area.

Another fun excursion to try is the Black Pearl Pirate Ship. This excursion is perfect for families, as it includes swimming, pirate-themed entertainment, and a delicious lunch. There are plenty of other excursions and day trips to choose from, but these are the top ones you should try. The best time to go is between May and October, when the weather is still nice and you're not in the middle of a heat wave. In addition to these tours, you can also book a private excursion that's tailored to your group's needs. In this case, you'll have your own personal guide. This option is generally the most expensive, but it's worth it for a one-of-a-kind experience.

Finally, you can always explore the area's natural attractions, like the Love Bridge. It's a beautiful tourist attraction in Ayia Napa, and if you're lucky enough to get to enjoy a nice sunrise or sunset, it's certainly a worthy accomplishment.

No. It is not required and not expected of you to tip your guide. However, if one is presented, the guide might accept a gratuity. To guarantee that they are fairly compensated for their time, each guide sets the price of their tours. They do not depend on gratuities from tours as a result. If you want to support your guide, write a review of your tour.
+
What happens once I make a reservation?
After making the payment, you should wait at least 24 hours prior to the travel date for your Local Expert to confirm the requested date. +
Is it possible to py in cash?
We have a policy that states that a reservation can only be verified after a legitimate payment has been made on our website.
