The wax figure is made from ten layers of oil-based paint. Eyes, hair and teeth are also added to make the statue look like the celebrity. After this, the figure is cleaned and checked for quality by maintenance teams. The museum plans to add about 20 new wax figures by November.
Marvel Universe 4D Cinema
Located near the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Madame Tussauds is an attraction that is sure to sate the appetites of diehard Marvel buffs. The park has eight attractions to choose from, each featuring its own unique set of thrills and spills. There are also special ticket offers that include tickets to the Marvel X-Men and Fantastic Four exhibits. This is the only place where you can rub shoulders with celebrities without the suffocating glare of a glassed in VIP room.
The Star Wars zone at Madame Tussauds is a must see for any fan of the galaxy far, far away. Among the many things to do, you'll find a 4D movie experience, a scavenger hunt style interactive exhibit that lets you get up close and personal with a variety of the spookiest characters, and the aforementioned Star Wars exhibit.
Albert Einstein
During his five and a half month tour of the Far East in 1922, Albert Einstein made a few notable stops, including Kyoto, Nikko and Senda. He also made a few unplanned stops in Japan, including an unplanned talk at the University of Kyoto. The trip was a success, in that Einstein received warm welcomes in Japan.
While in Japan, Einstein also made a few interesting discoveries. For example, he verified the bending of starlight when passing by the Sun. He also made a surprising discovery in the field of gravity. In 1915, he developed the theory of general relativity, which explained that gravity is a distortion of spacetime. This was a major step forward in Einstein's work, and is credited as being the starting point for mass energy equivalency.
Hands-on exhibits
Besides the usual wax figures, Madame Tussauds Tokyo also offers hands-on exhibits. This is a unique feature for the Japanese branch of the museum. Here, visitors can interact with life-size, lifelike figures of international and Japanese celebrities.
The first Madame Tussauds branch opened in London, UK in 1884. After the establishment of the original location in Marylebone Road, London, Madame Tussauds started to expand into other countries. They now have over two dozen locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The Japan branch features over 70 celebrity wax figures. They include actors, actresses, musicians, and sports stars. Kids will be especially interested in the sports figures and pop stars. Some of the more famous celebrities you can meet at Madame Tussauds Tokyo include Ayumu Goromaru, a member of the historical World Cup team; Beyonce; and Michael Jackson.
